Many injection molds are very often not used where they have been set up. The same machine settings however do not necessarily mean that the manufactured parts are identical.
These difficulties are well known by every factory which is running molds on different machines. This applies also for mold makers and companies with different production locations. The Pass Controller is therefore not only intended for stationary use.
The Pass Controller monitors and controls the injection molding production. “Characteristic numbers” of the molded part associated, for example, with maximum cavity pressure or cavity temperature are being saved as definite identifying feature. For the first time also the viscosity of the melt is determined cycle by cycle (online), and monitored in between limits. The machine settings must finally be varied until the process matches with the one during set up which is highlighted by a green LED. The automatic switchover option simplifies the finding of this original state significantly.
The compact device provides a remarkable and consequently easy handling and operation which can be adjusted by few inputs via a touch screen display. For this purpose a free configurable bar chart, a classical display of the measuring curves, as well as a display of the economic efficiency of the actual production is available. This includes production efficiency, detected downtime, as well as good and bad part statistics.
Additional features are a SD memory card for easy data storage, a cycle counter for the monitoring of mold service intervals, as well as an integrated magnetic feature for easy mounting. The multi-pin interfaces for the device are completely waterproof.
The Ethernet interfaces of all PRIAMUS systems are compatible to each other. For this reason the Pass Controller can also be used in combination with the monitoring and control systems PRIAMUS Monitor and PRIAMUS Fill. All systems can be networked by PRIAMUS Shop Floor, so that production can also be accessed from outside of the factory.
